• Account details — name, email address, mobile number, password hash, and the role you sign up as (job seeker, employer or administrator).
• Job seeker profile data — headline, skills, experience, education, expected salary, location (city, taluka, PIN code), and any resume you upload or build on the platform.
• Employer data — company name, industry, size, website, logo, addresses, verification documents and the job posts you publish.
• Activity data — applications submitted, shortlists, interview schedules, reviews, job alerts, messages exchanged on the platform, and job view counts.
• Payment records — plan purchased, amount, currency, status, gateway order and payment identifiers, and invoices. We never receive or store your full card number, UPI PIN or bank credentials.
• Technical data — IP address, browser type, device type and timestamps captured in server and security logs.

• To create and verify your account and keep it secure.
• To match candidates with roles, rank applications and generate AI assistance such as resume suggestions and job description drafts.
• To let employers and candidates message and schedule interviews with each other.
• To process registration fees and subscription payments, and to issue invoices.
• To send transactional email such as job alerts, application updates and receipts.
• To prevent fraud and misuse, to enforce our Terms & Conditions, and to comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your resume for advertising or share it with anyone other than the employers you apply to.

When you apply to a job, the employer who posted it can see your profile, resume and the details of your application. Verified employer profiles and published job posts are publicly visible, including on search engines. Your email address, phone number and payment records are never shown publicly.

We rely on a small number of processors, each bound to protect your data:

• Hosting, database, authentication and file storage — our cloud backend provider, which stores account records and uploaded files.
• Payment gateways — Razorpay and Stripe, which handle card, UPI and net banking transactions and hold their own privacy policies.
• AI providers — used to generate job descriptions, parse resumes and score applications. Text you submit for these features is sent to the model provider for processing and is not used to train public models.
• Email delivery — used to send transactional and alert emails.

We use strictly necessary cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in, remember your cookie choice, remember dismissed dialogs, and throttle repeated job view counts. These are essential to the platform working and cannot be switched off while you are signed in.

If we add analytics or marketing cookies in future, they will only be set after you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser storage for kartavyasetu.online.

• Account and profile data — for as long as your account is active.
• Applications, messages and interview records — retained while the related account exists, so both sides keep an accurate history.
• Payment and invoice records — retained for the period required by Indian tax and accounting law, even after account deletion.
• Security and server logs — a short rolling window for troubleshooting and abuse prevention.

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, you may ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct anything inaccurate, delete your account and associated data, or withdraw consent for optional processing. Email privacy@kartavyasetu.online from your registered address and we will respond within 30 days. Some records, such as invoices, must be retained by law even after deletion.

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored with encryption at rest. Access is controlled by role-based rules enforced at the database level, so employers can only reach candidate data relevant to their hiring, and administrators are audited. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.

The platform is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children, and we delete such accounts when identified.

We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Material changes will be announced on the site, and the effective date above will be updated. Continuing to use KartavyaSetu after a change means you accept the revised policy.
